Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas participated in the 2nd meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya yesterday in Rome. The participants of the Contact Group meeting which was co-chaired by Italy and Qatar expressed their deep solidarity with the Libyan people struggling for democracy.

They also welcomed the first Report by the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on the Qadhafi regime's crimes against humanity, presented to the UN Security Council on 4 May, as well as the Interim National Council's (INC) Road Map for Libya, which it considered an important contribution to the transition process.

After the meeting, Droutsas said that "it was confirmed today that the international community is speaking with a single voice on the Libya issue, […] but as Greece has stressed from the very outset: this crisis cannot be solved through military means alone." He also said that, in the coming days, Greece is preparing to send humanitarian aid to Benghazi.

In the southern part of the Saronic Gulf, separated by a narrow channel from the coast of the Peloponnese, lies the small but gorgeous island of Poros.

Myth has it that this richly verdant island was the birthplace of Theseus. The delightful little town of Poros is the island's capital and main port.

Approaching the island by boat, the visitor can admire the jewel of the town i.e the historic clock built in 1927 on the top of a hill.

Near the harbour is the impressive Progymnastirio, the first residence of Otto - first king of Modern Greece, - which today is used by the Hellenic Navy as a training centre for naval personnel.

There are plenty of opportunities for taking excursions from Poros across to the mainland coasts of Argolis, such as the town of Galatas or the idyllic Lemonodasos ('Lemon Forest').

A Naval Week takes place in early July every year, with cultural events and exhibitions associated with the island's naval history.
